Adele claims biggest change to her life after fame is where she shops for food

Adele is often lauded for being one of the few men and women to enjoy such phenomenal success and still keep their feet planted firmly on the ground.

Adele's return to the public eye with her latest album 25 was welcomed by a sea of adulation. But interviews with the "Hello" singer often result in missives about how “normal” and agreeable she is, apparently unchanged by platinum selling albums, six Grammys and an estimated fortune of £38 million.

The 27-year-old from Tottenham claims she doesn’t know what is happening in popular culture and insists she still see herself as “some random girl from London”.

But there is one area of her life that has changed since her ascent to fame - where she shops for food. Adele told The Observer she now shows at Waitrose, a higher end supermarket.

However, she is still refusing to succumb to the lavish, exclusive and contrived world of celebrity.

“It’s very easy to give in to being famous,”she said. “Because it’s charming. It’s powerful. It draws you in. Really, it’s harder work resisting it. But after a while I just refused to accept a life that was not real.”
