
Stars have backed the Three Lions after their heartbreaking penalty shootout defeat in the Euro 2020 final.
Gareth’s Southgate’s squad had taken an early lead through Luke Shaw but were eventually pegged back by Leonardo Bonucci before the game went to extra time and was decided via a shootout.
Bukayo Saka saw his decisive spot-kick saved, leaving stars like Adele heartbroken but grateful for the squad’s efforts.
She posted a picture of herself on Instagram, writing: “You did us so proud! You brought our game home and brought us all together.”
Singer Rita Ora had, before the game, draped herself in an England shirt declaring: “It’s coming home.” Post-game she paid respects to the squad.
Former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher said he loved Saka despite his vital miss.
He wrote on Twitter: “It’s all good Bruv. I love you kid we go and smash the World Cup.”
Prince William who attended the Wembley final with the Duchess of Cambridge and their son George said he was heartbroken by the loss.

Piers Morgan shared a photo of the team and wrote: “I admire every player who steps up & shows the balls to take a penalty in a game that important. Especially when they’re just 19, 21 & 23.”
Morgan paid tribute to the bravery of England’s penalty takers, he added: “Proud of you @bukayosaka87 @sanchooo10 @marcusrashford - you missed, and we lost, but you’ve all got guts.”
Presenter Dermot O’Leary offered condolences to 19-year-old Bukayo Saka, writing online: “Keep that beautiful head up Saka. You did your club and country proud. X”
