Adelaide Utd linchpins to return in ALM

Adelaide United linchpins Kusini Yengi and Michael Jakobsen will return from injury for their club's last A-League Men's fixture before finals.

Striker Yengi has overcome a hip ailment while veteran defender Jakobsen comes back after recovering from a groin strain.

The key duo will feature when fourth-placed United host third-placed Western United on Sunday.

"When we have a full squad we have got a really deep amount of quality players," Adelaide attacker George Blackwood told reporters on Tuesday.

"With Jako and Kusini obviously coming back into full training this week, it's going to be great to see them back."

Their return puts on a selection squeeze as Blackwood seeks to continue his rich recent form.

The 24-year-old scored against Brisbane last-start, his fifth goal in his most productive scoring season in the A-League.

And all five goals have come when starting, which he's done eight times in 13 games this campaign.

"Some of the games I have started, I think I have played some of the best footy I have played," said Blackwood, who has found the net in three of his past six matches.

"I have only started eight games so five goals in eight is not too bad, I'm happy with that.

"But it's not all about goals for me, I'm looking at creating space for other players as well ... I'm just looking at helping the team.

"Obviously you always aim to peak towards the end of the season when the finals are going, it has just worked out well for me."
