Adelaide murder victim stabbed, slashed and beaten up to 70 times

The victim's body was found in a front room of his Morphett Vale home.

Prosecutors say a man who was murdered in his home in Adelaide's south at the weekend was stabbed, slashed and beaten up to 70 times.

A 41-year-old woman and two men, aged 43 and 45, appeared in Adelaide Magistrates Court this afternoon charged over the 63-year-old's death.

The victim's body was found in a front room of his Morphett Vale home on Saturday morning.

The court heard the accused woman called police to the Nathan Court home.

The prosecution told the court the victim's death was "violent and brutal" and he had "suffered up to 70 stab, slash and blunt" injuries.

Police successfully applied for an order to suppress the trio's identity, saying the case was "complex" given the number of defendants.

The prosecution asked the court for an 11-month adjournment to allow them to gather more evidence, but the defence opposed the request, successfully convincing the magistrate to remand the trio until June, when police expect to receive the full autopsy report.
