Adelaide man to stand trial over child exploitation material charges

Warren Young will stand trial.

A man will face a District Court trial over allegations he possessed and shared child exploitation material.

Warren Jon Young appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today charged with four child pornography offences relating to using a carriage service to possess or transmit the material.

The offences carry a maximum penalty of 15 years in jail.

The 42-year-old entered not guilty pleas through his lawyer, before Magistrate Greg Fisher committed the matter to the District Court.

It is alleged that the offences occurred between July and November 2018 in South Australia.

He was arrested in May 2019 by the Joint Anti-Child Exploitation Team — a partnership between SA Police and the Australian Federal Police — after a referral from the US National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children.
