Adelaide man shot in stomach with homemade gun, police allege

A 29-year-old man has been charged with recklessly discharging a firearm after allegedly shooting another man in the stomach with a homemade gun at a property in Salisbury North overnight.

The man was arrested and charged with manufacturing firearms, breaching a firearms prohibition order and lying to police.

Police say a 21-year-old man had surgery last night at the Lyell McEwin Hospital in Adelaide's north after being accidentally shot in the stomach.

He is now in a stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.

Elizabeth detectives attended a property in Salisbury North where the alleged shooting occurred and discovered a hydroponic cannabis crop charging a 43-year-old man with drug offences.

The 29-year-old was refused bail to appear before the Elizabeth Magistrates Court today.
