A man has been charged with attempted murder after he allegedly shot at a man known to him at a house in Adelaide's east last night.

Police and emergency services were called to a home on Jury Avenue at Rostrevor just after 10pm, following reports a man had been shot at during a dispute with another man.

A 52-year-old man, who lives at the house, was not injured.

There was a large police presence, including Star Force officers, and the street was cordoned off.

Police said a 54-year-old Rostrevor man was arrested nearby without incident.

He has been charged with attempted murder, property damage and possessing a firearm without a licence.

The man has been refused police bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Police have asked anyone with information regarding the incident to contact Crime Stoppers.
