The lawyer for Josh Addo-Carr says he'll ask a court to hold off sentencing the Melbourne Storm and NSW Origin winger until he can leave the NRL's coronavirus bubble.
Addo-Carr, who hopes to help the Storm to their third grand final in four years with a win over Canberra on Friday night, is due to be sentenced on Tuesday in Taree Local Court over unauthorised gun use.
"He is in a bubble, so that is a problem, particularly as his livelihood is involved," his lawyer, Elias Tabchouri, told AAP on Thursday.
The 25-year-old in April uploaded footage of himself shooting a gun during the controversial trip to a farm owned by fellow NSW State of Origin representative Latrell Mitchell.
Addo-Carr, through his lawyer, later pleaded guilty to using an unauthorised firearm.
Even with a loss on Friday, the winger is likely to remain in rugby league's infection-free coronavirus bubble in order to play State of Origin in November.
"It (the court sentencing) should probably go over to some time in November - given he's in the form of his life he'll probably be playing Origin as well."
Both Addo-Carr and Mitchell were handed $50,000 fines by the NRL for bringing the game into disrepute and fined $1000 by NSW Police for breaching coronavirus restrictions.
Sixty per cent of the NRL fine was suspended.
Mitchell, who suffered a season-ending knee injury in August, is due to be sentenced on November 9.
