McClatchy has disclosed the individual prices it obtained in selling five former Knight Ridder newspapers for a total of $420.6m. It was paid $165m for Ohio's Akron Beacon Journal by a subsidiary of Canada's Black Press. The other sales, to a variety of buyers, were the Duluth News Tribune in Minnesota ($70m); the Grand Forks Herald in North Dakota ($65m); the Fort Wayne News-Sentinel in Indiana ($92.6m); and the Aberdeen American News in South Dakota ($28m).
