Ali McCann is determined to help fire St Johnstone into the top six before jetting off on international duty.
The Perth side need to defeat Ross County at McDiarmid Park, while hope that St Mirren fail to get the better of Hamilton.
Nudging into the top half following on from last month’s League Cup win would make this a real special season for McCann.
And he said: “We had a few days off last week and it was nice to rest the legs a wee bit.
“It had been a quick turnaround after the cup final.
“We just need to go out and beat Ross County. Hopefully Hamilton can do us a turn against St Mirren.
“If someone said at the start of the year we’d win the Betfred Cup and finish top six, you’d bite their hand off.
“If we do manage to scrape into that top six, it would be massive for the club and cap off a great season.
“Even if we don’t, we would still be aiming to finish top of that bottom six.
“On the whole that would still be successful.”
McCann joins up with his Northern Ireland team-mates after today’s game for World Cup qualifiers and a friendly with USA.
He hopes his Saints team-mates can earn Scotland recognition in the not too distant future.
Captain Jason Kerr and wing-back Shaun Rooney, to name a couple, were pushing for a place in Steve Clarke’s latest squad.
And while there was no Perth player listed this time around, McCann is sure they can’t be far away - especially if performances remain at a consistently high level.
McCann said: “For the whole season in general, the back five and Zander have been brilliant.
“I don’t see why they wouldn’t be considered because there have not been many better in the league.
“You never know what is going to happen. There could be a few injuries and I’m sure they can’t be that far down the pecking order.
“They have been performing well and, if they keep doing that, they will put themselves in a good position to get called up.”
