Cameraman Adam Ward, 27, was shot dead along with reporter Alison Parker, 24, during a live TV interview.
Adam Ward graduated from Salem High School and Virginia Tech University in 2011. He began working for the station shortly after graduation in 2011.
Melissa Ott, his fiancée, was in the control room, watching the horrific scene. Today was her last day at the station and Mr Ward planned on leaving the station for a new job in Charlotte.
His colleague Kimberly McBroom, the station's morning anchor, tweeted her disbelief at the loss of her colleague.
"Heartbroken over the loss of two members of our WDBJ7 family... There are simply no words."
