Adam Schiff: Erik Prince did not disclose 2016 Trump Tower meeting during testimony

House Intelligence chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) said on NBC's Meet the Press Sunday that Erik Prince was lying when he claimed last week that he testified about a 2016 meeting he had with foreign nationals at Trump Tower.

Backdrop: Prince, the brother of Education Secretary Betsy DeVos and an informal adviser to the 2016 Trump campaign, told Al Jazeera's Mehdi Hasan that he informed the House Intelligence Committee in November 2017 about a meeting he had with Donald Trump Jr., UAE emissary George Nader and Israeli social media manipulation specialist Joel Zamel. When pressed by Hasan about why it did not appear in the interview transcript, Prince suggested that the committee may have gotten the transcript wrong.

Why it matters: Special counsel Robert Mueller, who Schiff said is now in possession of all witness transcripts, has charged a number of Trump associates with lying to investigators. Notably, Donald Trump Jr. also neglected to tell the committee about the second Trump Tower meeting during his testimony.
