Adam Schefter no longer thinks Redskins are in the running for Josh Rosen

For weeks leading up to the NFL Draft, the Washington Redskins have been floated as a possible trade destination for Arizona QB Josh Rosen.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, that’s no longer.

On Schefter’s podcast that was released Monday morning, the topic of Rosen’s potential landing spots — should he ever be traded — was brought up, and the Redskins were not mentioned as a trade partner.

Instead, the New York Giants, Miami Dolphins and Los Angeles Chargers were all considered. Two of the three teams have aging quarterbacks who are likely to be retired within the next five years, and Miami, well… Miami has its own thing going on.

That being said, it may come as a shock to hear that Washington isn’t in trade talks with the Cardinals. Rosen was long thought to be a solid fit in D.C., and the team could deploy him in the near future with decent weapons around him, or choose to groom him for a year behind stop-gap QB Case Keenum.

With the draft just days away, rumors are swirling at an all-time high. There’s a small chance that Schefter omitted the Redskins by mistake, but that is unlikely.

If you were expecting Washington to make a move in the draft and somehow acquire Rosen, I wouldn’t get your hopes up. As we all know, Schefty’s word is bond.
