Adam Schefter broke Le’Veon Bell to the Jets news in a perfectly awkward moment on live TV

Le’Veon Bell has a new home and it’s with the New York Jets, as many had expected.

Adam Schefter reported shortly after midnight on Wednesday that the former Pittsburgh Steelers running back had agreed to a 4-year, $52.5 million deal with the Jets. It will become official once the league’s new year starts at 4 p.m. ET on Wednesday.

Bell, of course, sat out all of last season, waiting out a big payday and making sure he would be healthy to sign one.

Schefter broke the news while sitting next to Scott Van Pelt on SportsCenter and then needed the host to kill some time on live TV while he got the financial numbers of the deal from his source. Bell, who also dropped a mixtape at midnight, is happy to be back in a green uniform, as he played his college ball at Michigan State:

While the numbers that Bell signed for will be debated about whether it was worth sitting out all of last season, at least now he has a new team and we can all stop talking about where he might end up.

Which feels great.
