Adam Sandler's witty response after mortified restaurant worker turns him away

Adam Sandler has responded to a video of him being turned away from a restaurant after an employee told him there was a 30-minute wait.

Adam Sandler and one of his daughters, both wearing face masks, went to IHOP, a diner known for serving pancakes 24/7.

But after the 54-year-old actor was told it would be a 30-minute wait, he left.

The video, which was uploaded to TikTok by the waitress, Dayanna Rodas, saw Sandler and his daughters leaving the restaurant after she didn't recognise the actor at all in his face mask.

But despite not fulfilling his pancake needs, Sandler has no hard feelings, as he took to Twitter to respond to the viral video.

He wrote: "For the record, I only left the IHOP because the nice woman told me the all-you-can-eat deal didn't apply to the milkshakes."

In the original video, which quickly racked up more than 11.1 million views, Rodas filmed herself wearing a clown filter as she admitted: "Not realizing it's Adam Sandler and telling him it's a 30-minute wait and him ofc leaving because he's not going to wait 30 minutes for IHOP."

She captioned the video: "Pleaseee come back."

Since being posted, the video has been liked more than 2.3 million times and has received thousands of comments from people who were both stunned that she didn't recognise him and praised him for being so "humble."

In a follow-up video, she explained that she didn't recognise him because of his facial hair and mask.

She said: "It's because he had a big beard, and I've never seen Adam Sandler with a beard.

"And the mask didn't help."
