Adam Sandler makes ultra rare appearance with wife Jackie at SAG Awards 2023

Adam Sandler graced the red carpet for a rare appearance alongside his wife Jackie at SAG Awards 2023.

The Wedding Singer actor, 56, was nominated for his Hustle role in the leading actor category.

He appeared in traditional tie and tux and his wife Jackie, 48, cut a striking figure in a plunging red gown and matching clutch.

The pair have proved to be a united front and married for nearly 20 years and share Sadie, 16, and Sunny, 14.

Sandler told AARP that humour plays a huge part in their bond, adding: "We try to make each other laugh, try to listen, try to include each other, try to support each other."

Despite securing fame Sandler has chosen to keep his private life out of the spotlight as much as possible and isn't often seen on the circuit for red carpet events.

But his first Screen Actors Guild nomination proved to be the perfect opportunity to step back in the spotlight — although he missed out on the award which was handed to Brendan Fraser for The Whale.

The highly contended Outstanding leading male actor category also saw Elvis' Austin Butler, The Banshees of Inisherin's Colin Farrell, and Living's Bill Nighy.

Sharing his joy at being nomination via a tweet when first announced, he penned a short and sweet message saying: "Thank you to everyone at SAG. That was real cool. And love to all."

And the Happy Gilmore star appears to have married his personal passion for the NBA to his latest role.]

And his co-star Herangomez had nothing but praise for working with Sandler.

He told Esquire: "We just feel like family. For me, it wasn't hard to be on set every single day. He's just as he looks in movies as a person. He's funny, he loves basketball, he cares about you, he cares about the fans. He never put on a bad face or any bad answer. We just got really, really close."

The Jeremiah Zagar directed movie also stars Ben Foster, Queen Latifah, and Robert Duvall.

Elsewhere it was a big night for the cast of “ Everything Everywhere All at Once, as the Screen Actors Guild handed its top award for for the hit sci-fi comedy.

The New York Times called the film a "swirl of genre anarchy" with elements of surreal comedy, science fiction, fantasy, martial arts films, and animation.
