Actor Adam Sandler recently shared his thoughts about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce in a conversation with Entertainment Tonight. The interview mainly focused on his upcoming movie Happy Gilmore 2, which features Kelce in a special appearance alongside other celebrities.
During the interview, Sandler spoke highly of Kelce, describing him as a “gentle, nice guy” who reminds him of his high school friends. The actor praised Kelce’s acting skills and personality, calling him “a stud” and “a great human.” The Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end is one of several famous faces appearing in the Netflix sequel.
According to People, in a separate discussion on SiriusXM’s Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend podcast in February 2024, Sandler confessed that he gets “a little jumpy” around Swift. The reason, he explained, was simple: “Just cause I don’t wanna blow it for my kids… I don’t stay as cool as I can.”
Swift’s connection with Sandler’s family runs deep
The connection between Swift and the Sandler family appears to be particularly meaningful. The actor revealed that his daughters, Sadie and Sunny, who also appear in Happy Gilmore 2, have met Swift multiple times over the years. This continues Sandler’s tradition of working with his family members in his films, including his wife Jackie, who has appeared in 23 of his movies. A notable encounter took place at Swift’s Eras Tour Film premiere in Los Angeles in 2023, where the singer warmly greeted Sandler and his daughters with hugs.

Sandler expressed his appreciation for Swift’s kindness, especially toward his family. He described the singer as “incredible” and praised her consistent warmth and friendliness toward his children throughout their various meetings.
The upcoming Happy Gilmore 2, set to release on Netflix on July 25, features an impressive lineup of celebrity cameos. Besides Kelce, who has already proven his entertainment chops by joining Swift onstage during her Eras Tour in London, the movie includes appearances by Bad Bunny, Scott Mescudi, and several professional golfers. According to Sandler’s co-star Julie Bowen, securing these famous faces for the sequel wasn’t challenging, as “everybody wanted to be in it.”
The movie brings together a strong cast, including Christopher McDonald, Ben Stiller, and Dennis Dugan, along with Sandler’s daughters. The involvement of both established actors and current celebrities like Kelce and Bad Bunny suggests the sequel aims to appeal to audiences across different generations.
