Adam Peaty’s weeping mum breaks silence on wedding feud and takes swipe at Gordon Ramsay

The tearful mother of Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty has told of her heartbreak at an ongoing family feud ahead of his wedding to Gordon Ramsay’s daughter.

Caroline Peaty, 59, was not invited to bride-to-be Holly Ramsay’s hen do and is now banned from the marriage ceremony next month.

Mrs Peaty, from her Uttoxeter, Staffordshire, told the Daily Mail: “I know it’s the end.

“But please, the message I want Adam to hear is no matter what happens in the future, please know I love you, your dad loves you, you can come home and talk to me at any point.

“There’s nothing you’ve done that I would not forgive. I love you so much.

“I hope your marriage is a good one, I don't wish any ill on you and I want you and Holly to have a long and happy marriage, like your dad and me. The reason I’m speaking out is I want all this to end.”

Peaty, 30, a three-time world champion and current world record holder, is due to marry Ms Ramsay, whose father is celebrity chef Gordon, at historic Bath Abbey on December 27.

However, his parents - Mrs Peaty and her husband Mark - along with various other family members, are no longer on the guest list and have also had invitations withdrawn from Boxing Day drinks with the Ramsays before the big day.

She alleged: “He’s in Gordon’s clutches. “I can’t help but feel like they are pulling him away from me. Their family is very insular.”

When Adam flew back into Manchester Airport from his stag do in Budapest on Sunday evening, he was met by five police officers, reportedly because of fears he might be assaulted.

It is alleged he had been receiving threatening messages from his brother - builder James, 34 - who was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of harassment and questioned by police for two days before being released on conditional bail.

Peaty’s father told The Sun: “They’re brothers.

“They’ve always been close but like any normal family, brothers fight, argue, fall out, make-up and start all over again. But it’s got out of hand.

“There’s been very little empathy towards Jamie’s genuine mental health difficulties.”

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: “We arrested a 34-year-old man, from the Uttoxeter area, on November 11, 2025, on suspicion of harassment.

“The man was released on conditional bail while our enquiries continue.”

Mrs Peaty said she’s barely seen her beloved grandson George, five - with the exception of looking after him when her son went on his stag do in Hungary last weekend.

Peaty had the little boy he had with his previous partner, artist Eirianedd Munro, from whom he split in 2022, nine months after his appearance on Strictly Come Dancing. He met Ms Ramsay after getting to know her younger sister Tilly on the show.

On her way home from dropping George off with his mother in Birmingham, Mrs Peaty says she reached rock bottom after the Ramsays’ 25-year-old middle daughter shared snaps on Instagram of her hen party attended by the likes of Victoria Beckham at the exclusive members-only venue Soho Farmhouse in Oxfordshire.

“I was crying all the way home. I got home and told Mark that for the first time in my life, I felt I didn’t want to live.

“That’s how low this has made me. I’m a strong woman and I can get through anything, but this has broken me.”

Mrs Peaty says she doesn’t hold out much hope of her son changing his mind but will give the couple a “decent present” and send a card.

She added: “If he changed his mind, I would go. I want to go to Bath, to go into the abbey, to watch him get married.

“I love him, he’s still my little boy.”

The Ramsay family were approached for comment by the Standard.
