Adam Peaty’s mum shares cryptic post after sister’s fiancé with drug conviction invited to wedding

Adam Peaty’s mum has appeared to take another swipe at the Olympic swimmer online after reports that his sister’s fiancé, who has a past drug conviction, will be among the guests at his wedding next month.

Peaty, 30, is set to marry influencer Holly Ramsay, 25, in Bath in late December, with guests expected to include members of the Ramsay family, including her father Gordon, along with David and Victoria Beckham.

The lead-up to the wedding has been dominated by a growing family fallout. Earlier this month, The Sun reported that Peaty’s mother, Caroline, had not been invited and that security concerns had been raised around the event.

Over the weekend, the outlet reported that the only member of Peaty’s immediate family invited is his sister Bethany, and that she plans to attend with her partner Dan Rogerson. Rogerson, now 37, was jailed in 2017 for possession of cocaine and cannabis with intent to supply.

Following the report, Caroline shared a reflective quote on social media about remembering the “presence” of parents at Christmas time. The wording prompted renewed speculation that she was alluding to her exclusion from the wedding.

Court records from the time of Rogerson’s conviction stated that it was not his first drug offence and that he had previously breached a suspended sentence. A family source told The Sun that Peaty and Ramsay are aware of his past but believe he has changed.

“Adam is forgiving of them, but he isn’t forgiving of his own mum,” the source said.

Bethany, 32, lives in Derby with Rogerson and their two children, around half an hour from Peaty’s home in Leicestershire.

Tensions have reportedly intensified in recent weeks. Peaty’s aunt, Louise Williams, recently criticised Ramsay online, accusing her of being “divisive and hurtful”. According to the Mail, the post caused major upset and contributed to the worsening relationship between Peaty and his parents.

A friend of the family said relations are now at an all-time low, adding: “Caroline has been told she should not come to the wedding.”

Sources close to Peaty and Ramsay have said there are “jealous people desperate to ruin their happy day” and claim there have been threats of violence towards the couple from someone within the wider family. Police have reportedly become involved.

Last week, The Sun reported that Peaty’s brother James, 34, was arrested and remains on bail after allegedly sending threatening messages, with Peaty and friends receiving a police escort after arriving at Manchester airport.
