Adam Peaty's brother 'arrested over stag do threats to Olympian' amid family feud

Adam Peaty’s brother has been arrested over allegations he sent threats to the Olympic swimmer during his stag do, according to reports.

James Peaty, 34, was reportedly questioned by police on Monday before being released on conditional bail after allegations he sent Adam, 30, verbal threats.

Adam, 30, got a police escort at Manchester Airport on Sunday after returning from the trip to the Hungarian capital Budapest.

The Olympic swimmer - who is due to marry to Holly Ramsay, daughter of star TV chef Gordon - was reportedly “freaked out” by the “increasingly abusive” threats he was getting.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police told the Sun: “We arrested a 34-year-old man, from the Uttoxeter area, on 11 November 2025, on suspicion of harassment.

“'The man was released on conditional bail while our enquiries continue.”

It comes comes amid reports that Adam and Holly are locked in a feud with his family. The family are said to feel “pushed aside”.

The influencer and swimming legend have been dating for more than two years and are set to marry at Bath Abbey at Christmas.

It is understood he and his brother have not been on speaking terms since June when James had been working on a building project for Adam.

James was upset about the comments Adam made in his book The Gladiator Mindset, where he wrote about James having demons, it was claimed.

James had been asked to be a groomsman at the wedding, but was not invited on the stag-do owing to the row, the Sun reported.

His father Mark told the Sun: “They're brothers. They've always been close but like any normal family, brothers fight, argue, fall out, make-up and start all over again. But it's got out of hand.”

A family source told the newspaper “Adam and James were always close and they just fight like siblings always fight and argue between themselves.

“They’ve always made-up and been there for each other but since Adam’s engagement, relationships have deteriorated.

“James was upset about the comments Adam made in his book The Gladiator Mindset, where he wrote about James having demons and his brothers being in with the wrong crowd.

“James felt like he was portrayed as a bum in the book and people around town would ask him about what Adam wrote about him.”

James is thought to have uninvited his mother Caroline Peaty from his upcoming wedding.

Holly reportedly also caused tensions when she failed to invite Caroline,59, to her hen do at celebrity hotspot Soho Farmhouse in the Cotswolds over the weekend.

Adam’s aunt Louise Williams called Holly out on social media for missing Caroline out of her hen, branding the move “hurtful and divisive”.

Caroline also appeared to wade into the row by writing on Instagram: “Crying is a way your eyes speak when your mouth can't explain how broken your heart is.”

Representatives for Adam Peaty and Holly Ramsay have been contacted.

A friend revealed to the Daily Mail: “The issues that have been reported don't stem from hen do or wedding invitations; it goes so much deeper.”

The friend added that Holly's parents, chef Gordon Ramsay and his wife Tana have been “100 per cent supportive” of them.

A source close to Adam and Holly told The Sun: “This feud is heart-breaking from both sides.”

Adam and Holly reportedly began dating in May 2023. They announced their engagement in September 2024.

The athlete shares a son with his ex, artist Eirianedd Munro. They met on a dating app in 2019 and split in 2022.

Eirianedd’s friend said she was “shocked” by the family feud and is still “close” with Caroline, who often looks after her and Adam’s son.
