Adam Peaty was reportedly escorted from his plane by armed police after receiving “threatening” messages during his stag do in Budapest.
The Olympic swimmer - who is thought to have uninvited his mother Caroline Peaty from his upcoming wedding to Holly Ramsay - was reportedly “freaked out” by the “increasingly abusive” threats he was getting.
The 30-year-old is believed to have been met by five uniformed police officers when the plane touched down at Manchester Airport on Sunday night.
He was flanked by officers as he disembarked the aircraft and passed through immigration and baggage reclaim, before being escorted into a waiting car.
Police also monitored CCTV for suspicious activity amid fears he could be assaulted, according to The Sun.
The shaken athlete reportedly contacted his fiancée Holly, 25, who alerted the police after consulting with her parents, chef Gordon Ramsay and his wife Tana.

“The issues that have been reported don't stem from hen do or wedding invitations; it goes so much deeper,” a source told the outlet.
“Things escalated over the weekend when someone became increasingly abusive and threatening over text. Adam was trying to enjoy his stag do and was getting freaked out by it all.
“He then received a threat that he'd be met off the plane. He told Holly who called the cops after consulting with her family.”
The insider added that Gordon and Tana have been “100 per cent supportive” of Adam and Holly in the situation.
Adam’s representative told The Standard they are unable to comment as it is a “police matter”.
The alleged incident comes amid reports that Adam and Holly are locked in a feud with his family.
The influencer and swimming legend have been dating for more than two years and are set to marry at Bath Abbey at Christmas.

This week, bombshell reports claimed the couple has barred Adam’s mother Caroline from their upcoming nuptials.
The alleged feud has been developing between the swimmer and his mother since he began dating Holly, with the athlete allegedly being drawn into the celebrity glamour of Holly’s world.
Holly reportedly caused tensions when she failed to invite Caroline to her hen do at celebrity hotspot Soho Farmhouse in the Cotswolds over the weekend.
The getaway was attended by the likes of family friend Victoria Beckham and Adam’s sister Bethany - and the apparent snub prompted a slew of take-downs from Adam’s family on social media.
It was worsened by Adam inviting his future father-in-law Gordon to his own stag night, according to MailOnline.
Adam’s aunt Louise Williams stepped in on social media to call out Holly for missing Caroline out of her hen do in a move she branded “hurtful and divisive”.
“I'm so glad that you had a great hen do. As a bride, you deserve that,” she penned.
“However, as a person you were divisive and hurtful towards a woman, who I have loved and continue to love deeply.
“A woman who opened her home and heart to you. You decided, for whatever reason, not to invite her, your prospective mother-in-law to your hen night yet Adam invited his father-in-law, your dad, to his stag night.
“You invited your mum (quite rightly) and even your mum's assistant, your sisters, your friends, my niece, but not my sister, your future mother-in-law.
“I have also seen messages passing between her and Adam about this and other matters and, quite frankly, I expected better of you and definitely of Adam.”
She concluded: “You have inflicted a hurt on my sister that will take a very long time to heal if ever.”
Caroline also appeared to wade into the row by writing on Instagram: “Crying is a way your eyes speak when your mouth can't explain how broken your heart is.”
Another post read: “The ones I love are the people who hurt me the most. When you love someone, you protect them from the pain, you don’t become the cause of it.”
Louise’s post allegedly “deeply upset” Holly and Adam and reportedly prompted the swimmer to contact his mother to ban her from the wedding.
Adam - who has talked to The Standard about his depression and alcohol dependence in the past - also reportedly told her she would not see his five-year-old son George or any future grandchildren again.
“Caroline is devastated by the rift and doesn't know what she has done wrong,” a source told MailOnline.
“Adam's relationship with his mum and dad Mark are at an all-time low, and now she's not coming to the wedding.”
“As time has gone on, things have become strained and there have been rows, the tension has been very fraught. Caroline is in pieces and is absolutely heartbroken that it's gotten to this point,” the source added.
The only member of Adam’s family who will attend the wedding is his sister Bethany, with nobody else being able to afford the hotel costs, according to the outlet.
One family member said: “We were sent a save-the-date and it’s all these country houses. I’m on Universal Credit – I can’t afford that.
“Adam has been changed by money, fame and fortune. He seems to have forgotten where he came from,” they added to MailOnline.
Adam’s aunt Louise also claimed on social media that Holly and Adam banned Caroline from the wedding because she did not apologise for failing to attend a recent family trip to Bath due to cancelled trains.
On the Ramsays side, Tana, 51, is reportedly all too aware of the pain of family feuds due to her best friend Victoria’s apparent issues with her eldest son Brooklyn.
As for Gordon, an insider said that while he is “kind and caring”, he won’t let anything “ruin his beloved daughter’s wedding”.
The celebrity chef reportedly has a “top PR machine” and isn’t going to “take any nonsense” from the Peaty family.
Adam and Holly met on Strictly Come Dancing in 2021 when Adam and Holly’s younger sister Tilly were both competing in the series.
Adam split with his partner Eirianedd Munro, with whom he shares son George, in 2022.
He and Holly reportedly began dating in May 2023. They announced their engagement in September 2024.
"I am marrying my best friend. I truly cannot put into words how I am feeling right now. I still remember how big my smile was the morning I got home from my first date with you,” Holly shared on Instagram at the time.
“Thank you for letting the little girl inside of me feel loved, seen and happier than ever. I love you & I cannot wait to be your wife.”
