Adam Peaty changes username on Instagram following wedding to Holly Ramsay

Swimmer Adam Peaty has appeared to change his surname to include that of his new wife Holly Ramsay following their wedding ceremony on Saturday.

The 31-year-old has updated his username on Instagram to @AdamRamsayPeaty, amid a family fallout which saw his mother Caroline and father Mark miss the wedding ceremony held at Bath Abbey.

The change of surname for the swimmer follows reports of an ongoing family feud which, according to the Daily Mail, escalated after Peaty’s mother Caroline was reportedly not invited to Holly’s hen do.

Ahead of Saturday’s ceremony, Caroline spoke to the newspaper and said: “I don’t think they understand how much they have hurt me; it’s as if they have cut my heart out.

“This is the first Christmas that I’ve not had my family together – my family is broken.”

During the interview, for which she was not paid, she added: “They are both still loved, there is nothing I won’t forgive, and I want them to have the best day.”

Holly has since also appeared to have changed her name and updated her Instagram account to @hollyramsaypeaty.

Among those pictured at the ceremony on Saturday were Holly’s bridesmaids – her two sisters Megan and Tilly, and Peaty’s sister Bethany.

Celebrity tributes congratulating the newlyweds have come from Channel 5 newsreader Dan Walker and Dragons’ Den star Sara Davies, who competed alongside Peaty on series 19 of Strictly Come Dancing, and who attended the wedding.

Also among the celebrity guests in attendance on Saturday were former footballer Sir David Beckham, his wife, fashion designer Lady Beckham, and their youngest children, Romeo, Cruz and Harper.

Peaty reportedly met his new wife through her sister Tilly when the two took part in Strictly in 2021.

Holly, 25, announced their engagement on September 12 2024 in an Instagram post that said: “I am marrying my best friend. I truly cannot put into words how I am feeling right now.”

In a separate post, Peaty said: “I can’t believe you’re going to be my wife. I’m truly the luckiest man on earth to have such a gentle, caring and beautiful woman by my side.”

Peaty, from Staffordshire, who has won six Olympic medals, was previously in a relationship with artist Eirianedd Munro and the two  have a five-year-old.
