Adam ‘Pacman’ Jones announces retirement from football

Adam Jones, the longtime Cincinnati Bengal and former West Virginia cornerback, announced his retirement from football on Instagram today.

An often controversial player, Jones has been flagged many times on the field and disciplined off of it. He was arrested in the wee hours of the morning in a February incident at a casino in Indiana.

Jones last played for the Denver Broncos in 2018 and was cut in November after playing in seven games.

His career highlights include making the 2015 Pro Bowl roster and becoming a first-team All-Pro in 2014. Over the course of 12 seasons in the league, he recorded 507 total tackles, 17 interceptions and seven forced fumbles. He returned five punts for touchdowns and logged more than 5,000 combined kick and punt return yards.

Though often controversial, Jones made a number of big-time plays for the Bengals. We wish him the best in his retirement.
