Adam Lambert slams White Lotus' Theo James' interest in playing George Michael in biopic

Adam Lambert has slammed The White Lotus star and "straight man" Theo James for his interest in playing "gay icon" George Michael in a new biopic.

The Queen tour hitmaker, 40, hit out at the actor, 38, after he expressed his "love" to play the music icon in a recent TV interview.

He was appearing on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen last week when the host mentioned ongoing rumours that Theo was being eyed up for the job.

"I would love that. He’s a lot of Greek, and I’m a lot of Greek. Put that Greek together, and you get falafel," Theo said during the interview – something Adam seemingly disliked.

LGBTQ+ outlet The Advocate shared a side-by-side image of Theo and George on Instagram, with the caption "White Lotus star Theo James eyeing a gay role in George Michael biopic".

It was in the comment section that Adam voiced his opinion on the news, saying: "Yay another straight man playing a gay icon."

"That’s why it’s called acting, Adam. He might not be gay, but he is British and Greek as George was," replied one person – while others seemed to agree with Adam.

"Literally so infuriating," said one person, seemingly sharing Adam's views. While another replied: "I thought the same thing!"

The Mirror has contacted Adam's representatives for comment.

It comes after owners of the £19million home of the late singer, which was purchased by a super fan, has began renovation work and has caused ructions with their neighbours.

Communications guru Stephen Cameron described himself "huge George Michael fan", bought the pop superstar's Grade II listed home in Highgate, London.

Residents are believed to be upset by the drilling and loud noises of the renovations, describing it as 'misery', as pictures show fencing around the front of the property.

With developments well underway, workmen and diggers have been seen over the last couple of months with the constant noise lasting up to 10 hours a day.

Cameron has also been given permission to extend the existing outbuilding, which features an outdoor shower and roof terrace.

He's got permission for relocating the swimming pool, which former neighbour Kate Moss claims she used to hop into with daughter Lily Grace after climbing over using a ladder.
