Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana has sent a message to , the Reds' latest signing, ahead of the Japanese international meeting the rest of the squad upon their return to Merseyside after the FIFA Club World Cup .
Minamino will link up with his teammates in the New Year when he officially signs for the Reds on January 1, just prior to the Merseyside derby at Anfield in the FA Cup.
And Lallana is looking forward to meeting him, having seen the Reds face Minamino in the Champions League twice this season during the group stages.
The Reds' number 20 said: "Fantastic signing. It’s going to be more competition for places again, which is hugely positive to have.
"The more you’re competing, the higher the level is in training.
"That means the quality is going to be higher on a Saturday, Wednesday or whenever we’re playing.
"It’s fantastic news that we’ve made another addition and I’m really looking forward to meeting him when we get back."
Jurgen Klopp will have extra cover in forward areas when Minamino signs.
The German outlined earlier this week that the Japanese international will be able to play across the frontline, as well as in a midfield number eight role.
