Adam Kamani's investment fund backs start-ups Dash Water and Travel Curious

KM Capital, the specialist investment vehicle launched by prettylittlething co-founder Adam Kamani to fund early-stage businesses, has kicked off 2020 with two new deals.

Manchester-based KM Capital has recently backed Dash Water and Travel Curious taking its current portfolio of companies to 18.

Dash Water was launched in June 2017 and produces a range of sparkling water products which utilise surplus fruit and vegetables that would usually go to waste to create sugar- and calorie-free soft drinks.

It has ambitions to expand its range of four sparkling spring waters infused with lemon, blackcurrant, raspberry and cucumber across Europe.

KM Capital’s investment is part of a Series A funding round which also saw the founders of Charles Tyrwhitt and Bulldog Skincare back the business.

Shoreditch-based Travel Curious is also looking to expand internationally.

The company matches travellers with tour guides in 62 countries through their ‘match and dispatch’ technology platform.

The technology connects the traveller directly to the best available tour guide for the selected tour or experience.

Travel Curious has recently signed deals with international hotel groups, online travel agencies and is now expanding into the travel technology platforms.

Said Adam Kamani said: “We are excited to support Dash and Travel Curious and hope to help them accelerate to the next level.

“We felt both fit perfectly with our investment strategy and we will work hard to share our experience with them. We hope to identify similar founders in 2020 to build on our existing portfolio of investments.”

KM Capital’s Investment Manager James Merryweather said: “We are incredibly excited to back two more exceptional founding teams already breaking out of the UK market predominantly into Europe and the US.

"We were struck by their sheer ambition and equally impressed by the early execution we’ve seen.”

Other companies in the portfolio include Beer 52, Secret Spa, Fanbytes, Secret Spa and Picfair, and the fund also making follow-on investments into Bubble, Zero Deposit and The Boathouse London.
