Adam Jackson in talks with Hibs confirms Paul Heckingbottom as boss prepares for 'massive turnover'

Hibs boss Paul Heckingbottom has confirmed talks with out-of-contract Barnsley defender Adam Jackson are ongoing.

The 24-year-old was signed for the newly promoted Championship club by Heckingbottom and made 10 appearances this season.

The Hibs manager admitted he is preparing for a huge turnover in his squad in the summer as he looks to put his stamp on the Easter Road outfit.

And while he confirmed Jackson talks have started, there's still a way to go before any deals are concluded.

"We aren't close to getting people done on the line yet but we have a number of options in lots of positions," the Englishman said.

"It's important we get as many in as possible for that first day.

"If you look at the loan players we have and players whose contracts are up, there is potential for it to be a massive turnover. But we don't want it to be that way.

"I want to take the opportunity to change the squad as much as possible but I don't want to be losing players off the back of that."

Former Middlesbrough defender Jackson has played for England at youth level right up to U19.

The 6ft 2in stopper never made a single top team appearance for Boro but had spells on loan at Halifax, Coventry and Hartlepool.
