Adam Idah admits he faced 'a lot of hate' while insisting 'it's torture' dealing with the aftermath of having a bad game for Celtic.
The 24-year-old last week moved from the Scottish Premiership champions to Swansea City in a £6m move.
He departed Celtic Park just a year after his permanent £9m switch from Norwich, having spent six months on loan in the season prior.
Idah will now play his trade in the Championship again after failing to properly nail down a starting spot under Brendan Rodgers.
The frontman scored a last-gasp equaliser for the Republic of Ireland in their 2-2 draw with Hungary at the weekend.
And after the game, he was asked about his decision to leave Celtic, as he pointed out that he was somewhat of an unsung hero.
"I think there have been so many games where I've won them games and got them qualified for things, the finals," he told Sky Sports. "It probably goes unnoticed.
"It can be tough, you get a lot of hate. You might have a bad game and it's torture. It's a difficult place up there.
"But flip it the other way, you're doing well and it's the best place ever.

"I think that's what it's going to be like at any top club. You've just got to deal with that.
"Celtic is one of the biggest clubs in the world. It's a really proud moment for me, playing for them.

"To score, I think, 20 goals last season coming off the bench, it kind of goes a bit unnoticed. But that's football. It's time to move on now and get a fresh start."
In another post-match interview, the striker said: "It was a crazy week. I had no thoughts of leaving Celtic, but Swansea came in. It was a good project for me to go down to the Championship and restart.
"I loved my time at Celtic. I had some amazing memories, but it was probably time for me to move on and have a fresh start."
