Adam Humphries apparently likes the Titans’ quarterback situation more than the Patriots’

If Titans fans are listening, they should be happy with why Adam Humphries picked Tennessee instead of New England. One of the reasons is apparently he felt more comfortable with the Titans’ quarterback situation than he did with the Patriots. As Humphries said:

So to get this straight, let’s say Tom Brady retires after this year, Humphries still felt more comfortable with Marcus Mariota. This is the same Marcus Mariota who hasn’t started 16 games in his first four years. The same guy who had 13 touchdowns and 15 interceptions in 2017 and followed it up with 11 touchdowns and 8 interceptions in 2018. The Titans that snuck into the playoffs in 2017 — and missed the playoffs last year — only to get rolled by the Patriots when they snuck by the Chiefs. The same Titans that are probably third in their division behind Indianapolis and Houston. By the way, Mariota only has one year left on his deal right now. Ryan Tannehill is his backup.

To quote Jim Young — Ben Affleck’s character from Boiler Room — tell me you don’t like my firm, tell me you don’t like my idea, tell me you don’t like my necktie, but don’t tell me that the Titans give you a better chance at winning because they have a better — or even more stable — situation at quarterback.

The truth probably lies a little bit closer to reasons like: the Titans were offering more money, more opportunity, and a better playing situation rather than Tom Brady retiring soon being a deciding factor. At this point, if we are to believe Tom Brady — and we have no reason to doubt him — he’s playing until his 45. That’s three more seasons. That’s basically the length of his four-year deal.

So please don’t tell us that you chose the Titans because their quarterback situation is better. It’s basically not true.
