Adam Hastings reveals his excitement at playing in Celtic's home ground

Adam Hastings won't have any problem adjusting to Celtic Park - he's played a Cup final at Hearts' Tyncastle home.

The Glasgow no 10 lined out for his school, Watsons, at the Edinburgh ground in a Cup final - losing 3-0 to Stewart's Melville.

"It was crap," the Scotland international admitted. “I was right wing at the time, but I’ve played all over the shop. I think I got back to centre-back when they realised I was slow."

And Hastings is no stranger to Celtic's home as a good schoolmate of his is a huge Bhoys supporter and he's tagged along a few times.

It's a little different from the quieter atmosphere Glasgow Warrior experience most weeks in Scotstoun.

“I think football fans are a lot louder than rugby fans, so that atmosphere is incredible there," smiled Hastings.

"They (Celtic) have got some of the best fans I the world, so it has been a good experience when I’ve gone.”

As a kicker, he doesn't believe the dimensions of Celtic Park will affect his game

"Scotstoun is pretty windy, so hopefully the stands give a bit of cover," said the 22-year-old. “Murrayfield is pretty windy, so it depends on the dynamics or physics or whatever."

He's relishing he opportunity to go face to face with Johnny Sexton.

“He’s a quality player," Hastings acknowledged. "He’s played in some massive games and his track record, or his CV, is pretty good.

But it will be no different to playing someone like Owen Farrell, I’m sure. I don’t think it will make too much difference to my game."

Hastings made sure to watch Leinster's semi-final clash with Munster last Saturday, the day after Glasgow blew Ulster away in the first semi.

“It was extremely physical, as most derbies are," he said. "They were getting stuck into each other. It looked like a tough game to play in.

"Leinster showed their quality at the end and put their foot on Munster’s throat to close it out.

"It was a good one for them going into the final, I suppose. Munster are a quality outfit themselves so I think they’ll be happy with that".
