Adam Gase looked like a maniac using smelling salts before a preseason game

Adam Gase had that look in his eyes. You know the one I’m talking about.

The New York Jets new coach was getting ready for (preseason) football, and took a whiff of smelling salts. And while he generally looks like a maniac, he looked particularly insane after using the smelling salts during kickoff for the Jets’ preseason game against the New York Giants.

This is extremely on-brand for Gase, whose introductory press conference with the Jets was highlighted not by what he said but instead by how he looked (like a madman). His eyes were so intense that he got memed within minutes of getting introduced as New York’s hire.

In the game against the Giants, the Jets went on to score a quick touchdown on their opening drive, led by Gase and quarterback Sam Darnold. In so many ways, it was apparent that those smelling salts were working.
