Adam Forshaw talks up management potential after eye-opening experience with Marcelo Bielsa

Leeds United midfielder Adam Forshaw has spoken out about how much he is learning under the guidance of Marcelo Bielsa – which has made him think about becoming a manager.

The Whites’ midfielder has started both of Leeds United's Championship fixtures so far this season, putting in good displays in the centre of their midfield three.

After a stop-start debut season at Elland Road, the former Middlesbrough man is hoping to push on this season and hopefully earn promotion with the club.

Forshaw has revealed how much he is loving life under Bielsa and how the Argentine’s coaching methods have made him consider management after he hangs up his boots.

Speaking to the press ahead of this weekend’s fixture against Nottingham Forest, he said: “I’m learning so much, I’ve always said it. He makes me feel like I want to be a manager when I finish because he’s widened my horizons massively.

“Day to day, the standards, the professionalism, even then to the coaching methods, day to day and you see it comes to fruition on a Saturday. I’m loving it.”

At the age of 27, there is no danger of Forshaw hanging up his boots any time soon.

The midfielder admitted that prior to his Elland Road move, he hadn’t considered life after his playing days, but revealed he’s been taking notes from the master.

“I hadn’t to be honest (considered management). As you say, I’m not too old yet so. Yeah, I’ve just been noting things down, key points of what I’m learning from him. With his vast appearance, I think I’d be silly not too.”
