Adam Forshaw receives injury boost as Leeds United midfielder steps up comeback

Leeds United midfielder Adam Forshaw is set to step up his comeback from injury in a boost for Marcelo Bielsa's side.

The 28-year-old has endured a frustrating season, having played just 45 minutes since the end of August owing to a hip problem.

Bielsa last week was unable to pin down a return date for Forshaw last week, but the club are now hopeful that he will be back out on the grass next week.

Bielsa last month spoke of the former Middlesbrough man's importance for the team.

"Yes it's a long injury. Of course it’s frustrating for him and also for us because he’s a very necessary player," he said ahead of the win at Huddersfield Town.

Bielsa is due up in front of the press on Thursday lunchtime, where further updates on Pablo Hernandez, Tyler Roberts and the rest of Leeds' injured players are expected.

Leeds take on Sheffield Wednesday in a Yorkshire derby on Saturday looking to maintain their position as Championship leaders.
