Adam Forshaw has set his stall out for who Leeds United’s player of the year should be in a new podcast.
The midfielder was a guest on Colin Murray's new 52 podcast sponsored by Grosvenor Casinos, during which he answered five questions taken from a deck of cards - the new series’s USP.
Forshaw backs team-mates Ben White or Kalvin Phillips to go on and be the best footballers in the current group, but picks out ‘the Championship’s James Milner’ as his man of 2019/20.
“As someone who can go on and be the best, I would say Ben or Kalvin, but I would say Stuart Dallas at the moment, he would be my Player of the Year all day,” said Forshaw.
“He will play anywhere on the pitch for you and he is a manager’s dream. He will run through a brick wall for you.
“He deserves this break and needs to be recognised for what he does. I call him the Championship’s James Milner. He’s absolutely fantastic.”
There was also a predictable answer when Forshaw was put on the spot for the best coach or manager he has worked with.
“If I have to pin it on one person, then I can’t look any further than now, it has to be Marcelo Bielsa,” he said.
“As a coach and as a manager his knowledge is frightening. In his field, I would say he is a genius in terms of coaching a group and improving young players and bringing them on.”
