Adam Collard slammed by Love Island fans for ignoring Zara McDermott split with topless selfie

Adam Collard incurred the wrath of Love Island fans after dismissing his break-up with Zara McDermott by posting a topless selfie.

Collard failed to address the split which a "heartbroken" McDermott announced on Instagram earlier this week.

McDermott's fans hit out at the Geordie reality star, scolding him for “letting her go”.

One wrote: “U missed out on a loyal and natural beauty @zara_mcdermott.”

Another said: “Don’t get rid of the Z, u two were the strongest couple to come out of Love Island and you’ve proved everyone wrong, go get your girl back @zara_mcdermott.”

“Fake fades!!! Once a snake, will aways a snake. Poor @zara_mcdermott but babe you deserved more than him. He might have a great physique but the inner self is so dark and ugly,” posted somebody else.

Several questioned what Collard was going to do with his “Z” tattoo, having had McDermott’s initial inked on his wrist just a month after they got together last summer.

But Collard hinted that he may have already thought about the alphabet marking as he captioned the post “more drawings needed”.

“I am heartbroken to announce that Adam and I have parted ways,” she said.

“I love him very much and will always have a special place in my heart for him and our time spent together. I have tried so hard to be the best person I can possibly be and to make it work.

“Sometimes in life, you just aren’t enough for someone; no matter what you do for them or how much you try to be.”

She ended her sad statement by saying that she “didn’t know if she was okay”, hinting that it would take some time to get over her former flame.

Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham are now the only remaining couple left from last year's Love Island.
