Adam, 13, has now been missing for three days

People are being urged to keep a look out for a 13-year-old boy who has disappeared from his home in Newton Mearns in East Renfrewshire.

Adam Phimister was last seen by his family around 8.30pm on Wednesday, May 4. Now Greater Glasgow Police Division have renewed their appeal for the assistance of the public after extensive inquiries revealed that there had been a potential new sighting of the schoolboy in Bathgate, West Lothian, around 11am on Saturday, May 7.

However, his current whereabouts remain unknown. Adam Phimister is described as white, 5ft 8in tall, and of slim build with short brown hair. Inspector Ian Scott, of the Greater Glasgow Police Division, said: "Adam has been missing from his home since Wednesday and we are becoming increasingly concerned for his safety as he is only 13. We want to trace him as soon as possible to ensure that he is safe and well.

"Our enquiries are ongoing to trace him and I would ask anyone who has seen Adam, or who has any information regarding his whereabouts to contact officers through 101 with reference number 3312 of 4 May, 2022."

UPDATE: Adam Phimister has been traced safe and well.
