Warburtons: “The Deliverers” (Starts at 00:06) – UK
It isn’t really possible to be a 68-year-old action hero unless you have a pretty good sense of humour and – throughout his acting career – Sylvester Stallone has frequently demonstrated an ability to produce decent comedy moments. Nonetheless, it was wise to ask comedy expert Declan Lowney – who recently directed Alpha Papa (the Alan Partridge movie) – to marshal a winning performance from the illustrious lead.

Nike: “Ripple” (Starts at 01:58) – USA
Ahead of last week’s Masters golf tournament at Augusta, all the talk surrounded the possibility of Rory McIlroy completing a grand slam and the wisdom of Tiger Woods taking on the famously difficult course after a considerable hiatus. So it was the perfect moment to run this beautifully composed advert highlighting the former’s idolisation of the latter … even if Jordan Spieth’s extraordinary performance ultimately overshadowed both McIlroy’s and Woods’s efforts.

A man dies and leaves a letter for his nephew, who is the only person he trusts with his world-changing secret. So the young man heads out to the palatial house in the country where the secret can be found. What will it be? What are the consequences? And should he be considered trustworthy at all? Find out.

Robinsons Cordials: “They Grow Up Fast” (Starts at 05:36) – UK
The idea of speeding through life has frequently been explored in commercials, so if you’re going to use it, you’d better make sure it’s captivating. Director Tom Tagholm has done exactly that in this poignant yet funny advert for Robinsons which reduces a boy’s journey from babyhood to adulthood to less than 60 seconds.

Vodafone: “Let’s Go” (Starts at 06:39) – UK
“Get yer coat,” orders Phil Daniels in Parklife mode, “we’re going on a little journey.” Thus begin 60 energy-packed seconds in which we’re told to embrace life “full pelt; no braces, no belt”. This advert wants us to make sure we’ve got 4G technology at our fingertips to make the most of every event we experience … though it could just as easily be telling us to stop living our lives through the prism of our mobile phone screens.
