Tributes have been paid to popular Northern Ireland actress Roma Tomelty who died suddenly.
The talented actress starred in films Your Highness and Miss Conception as well as more recently The Frankenstein Chronicles and season eight of Game of Thrones.
She came from a well-known acting family, her father Joseph was a well known NI actor and playwright, while her sister Frances is also a film and TV star.
Mrs Tomelty's death was announced on Wednesday afternoon by the Centre Stage Theatre School which she founded alongside her husband.
They said in a statement: "It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Roma. She went peacefully this morning."
They went on to thank healthcare professionals who looked after her and urged everyone to stay at home and stay safe.
"We can’t thank the staff enough at the Mater Hospital. In particular to Dr Michael and Bernie and Emma who took care of her. Hopefully we will be able to give her a proper send off when the world is calm again. Stay safe. Stay home," the statement added.
Following her sudden passing, tributes have been pouring in from the arts community.
Executive Producer and Artistic Director of Lyric Theatre, Jimmy Fay described Roma as 'her own force of nature'.
He tweeted: "Very sad to learn of the passing of the extraordinary Roma Tomelty. She came from Belfast acting dynasty but was her own force of nature as an actor, producer and teacher. She worked everywhere throughout her career but had a long & distinguished history with the @LyricBelfast. RIP"
Belfast Film Festival posted: "We are so sad to hear about the passing of Roma Tomelty. Star of stage & screen, Roma was a force of nature appearing recently in Game Of Thrones & The Frankenstein Chronicles. She will be much missed by the film & theatre community. Our thoughts are with Roma's family & friends."
