Actor who abused girls at party found dead in prison

Prison John Alford

Former actor John Alford has died at HMP Bure in Norfolk, just two months after being jailed for sexual offences.
Alford, 54, was sentenced to eight-and-a-half years in January after being convicted of sexually assaulting two teenage girls.
He was found guilty of four counts of sexual activity with a 14-year-old girl and charges of sexual assault and assault by penetration relating to a 15-year-old girl.
The offences took place in April 2022 at a home in Hertfordshire, after Alford had bought alcohol for the victims.
The Prison Service said that the Prisons and Probation Ombudsman will investigate, as is standard for all deaths in custody.
