Actor Terry Crews has praised the benefits of a ‘sex fast’, saying it has improved his marriage and left him more in love with his wife than he has ever been.
Crews, a former footballer who currently stars in Brooklyn Nine Nine and the Old Spice adverts, told The Huffington Post that he embarked on the 90-day challenge because he wanted to refocus his relationship and emphasise the importance of intimacy.
Speaking to The Huffington Post, Crews said the fast included “no sex, all relationship, all talk, all cuddle.”
“I found that at the end of that 90 day... I knew who she was, and it wasn't about 'Let's go out because I know I'm gonna get some sex later.' It was like, 'Let's go because I want to talk to you. I want to know you’.”
He said he felt that every man craves more intimacy but is too nervous to admit it.
“You're not looking for porn. You're looking for someone to know you and love you at the same time,“ he outlined.
He admitted that the 90 day challenge - considerably longer than the fast imposed in the comedy 40 Days and 40 Nights - left him "more in love" than ever.
“That's all you want - every man out there. But he's scared sometimes. That's why men put up big fronts.”
