Actor's son reports 'bomb threat' to Mumbai Police control room

MUMBAI: The son of a television actor called up the Mumbai Police control room early on Saturday, while he was tipsy, to inform that an unknown man he had been chatting with over an app had threatened about bomb blasts.

The Andheri police have recorded his statement and are probing further. The actor's son is 26-year-old and lives in Andheri's Verma Nagar. He was using a video chat app late on Friday and was drunk.

In his statement to the police, the actor's son said that an unknown man connected with him over the app. The two had a conversation about India's T20 Cricket match with Pakistan. He then reportedly taunted him about India's defeat in the match at which the latter verbally abused him.

The man with whom the complainant was chatting then went on to threaten about bomb blasts but did not mention the place or any other details.

Thereafter, the actor's son dialled the Mumbai Police control room in the wee hours of Saturday to inform them about the threat. A police team was sent to his residence and later his statement was recorded.
