Actor Rainn Wilson from ‘The Office’ visits Seahawks OTAs

The Seattle Seahawks may be the NFL’s most geographically isolated franchise, but that doesn’t stop them from having a surprisingly star-studded fan base. Several well-known celebrities are passionate Seahawk fans, such as rapper Macklemore and actor Chris Pratt.

On Day 5 of OTAs, another famous fan, comedian Rainn Wilson, showed up to the Virginia Mason Athletic Center to watch his favorite team. Wilson is best known for playing Dwight K. Schrute on the hit comedy “The Office.” While Wilson has gone on to star in other television shows and even some Hollywood blockbusters, the Seahawks got to see him as a fan as he attended practice.

Wilson appeared to enjoy himself as he interacted with and met several players, including newly drafted wide receiver DK Metcalf. Ever since the Seahawks drafted the former Mississippi standout, Seahawks fans have been hyped to see what he can do, and Wilson was able to get an up-close look.

Of course, Metcalf wasn’t the only Seahawk Wilson interacted with at practice. The comedian also took some time to meet the other Wilson on the field — quarterback Russell Wilson. Perhaps he was trying his hand at coaching as a plan B if he decides he no longer wants to be an actor.

The television star also tried his hand, er, foot, at some special teams work with punter Michael Dickson. Although it seems kicking field goals is not a specialty for Wilson, perhaps there is a future for him as a holder.
