Actor Mackenzie Crook makes Good Morning Britain plea to help find his missing sister-in-law

Mackenzie Crook made a public plea to help find his missing sister-in-law.

The actor joined Good Morning Britain to share more information regarding his family member's disappearance. Laurel Aldridge, 62, was last seen a week ago in the vicinity of the cricket ground in the West Sussex village of Slindon, but no one has managed to make contact with her since.

Discussing a potential reason for her disappearance, he said: "She was diagnosed with cancer last year and she missed, I think, a fifth chemo session last Tuesday. We think that's triggered some sort of crisis in her and she's gone off for a long walk somewhere and that's the last we've heard of her. We're really clutching at straws now after a week."

GMB's Ranvir Singh asked whether or not the family had a lead to help track her steps but Mackenzie admitted they've come up short. Ranvir said: "Are there any special places where she might have returned to where people can keep their eyes peeled?"

Mackenzie said: "It's quite overwhelming. We've been combing the woodlands for a week now. We can only think she's hopefully taking shelter in a back garden, in the shed or in an outhouse or something. That's what we're hoping.

"We're asking people to check all of those places in their garden, even if they've done it before, to go back and check again, just in case you're still on the move. There are some specific roads that the police think she may have crossed in that time, the A27 in both directions between Fontwell and Arundel, and anyone driving in the Slindon and Warburton areas to check would be very helpful."

Mackenzie said the ongoing Nicola Bulley case has impacted the family's thoughts with the "waiting and not knowing being absolutely agonising" but they are trying to remain stoic and contain their emotions.
