Actor Dennis Quaid, 65, has confirmed his engagement to his 26-year-old girlfriend Laura Savoie.
He proposed to her in Hawaii, telling Extra, "It happened on the very northernmost point of Oahu, at Turtle Bay. It was kind of spontaneous. It was very much a surprise.”
The Parent Trap star said, “I had the ring in my pocket… It has been kind of a month-and-a-half plan." The timing worked out as he wanted it to be "private."
Savoie was taking a selfie when he proposed. "She was actually taking a selfie of us, and I put the ring in front and said, ‘Will you marry me?’ - and then she fell down," he joked. The couple was first spotted together in June.
Savoie is a graduate student at the University of Texas at Austin, where she attends business school. She graduated from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California in 2014. According to her LinkedIn, she completed her degree in three years and was valedictorian with a 4.0 GPA. She then received her Master of Science in Accounting from University of Notre Dame before enrolling at UT in 2017. She's also a yoga teacher, realtor and certified public accountant.
Quaid was previously in a relationship with model Santa Auzina for three years. Before that, he was married to actress Kimberly Buffington for 16 years, until 2018. They share twins, son Thomas Boone and daughter Zoe Grace, who were born on November 8, 2007, using a surrogate.
He was also married to romantic comedy superstar Meg Ryan from 1991 to 2001. They share son Jack Quaid, 27, who's currently becoming a rom-com leading man in his own right. His son Jack is one year older than his future wife.
Before marrying Ryan, he was married to actress P.J. Soles from 1978 to 1983.
Savoie was formerly in a relationship with Entourage star Jeremy Piven.
