KOCHI: The high court declined to stay the probe against actor Dileep in the case over alleged conspiracy to kill the investigating officers in the actor assault case.
The demand for staying the investigation was raised while justice K Haripal was considering the actor's plea for quashing the case. While declining to stay the probe, the court said a detailed hearing is required in the case; the judge said he is postponing the case for hearing after summer vacation. Let the investigation continue until then, the court said.
However, a senior counsel, who represented Dileep, pressed for an early hearing of the petition. The court suggested a hearing on April 1. But the counsel sought an earlier hearing than the date proposed by the court. The judge then said he will consider the case on March 28. As the senior counsel submitted that he may not be able to attend on 28th, the judge said he will post the case to another bench, as he was retiring soon.
Meanwhile, a witness in the further investigation in the actor assault case, has filed a plea at HC alleging that the investigating officer is threatening him to give a false statement. The petition was filed by Sagar Vincent, who was a staff at Lakshya boutique.
