Acton fire: 100 firefighters battling huge blaze on industrial estate

Around 100 firefighters are battling a huge blaze on an industrial estate.

The fire has engulfed numerous of properties at the site, sending a huge plume of smoke visible for miles around up into the air.

London Fire Brigade crews are making 'steady progress' in tackling the inferno at Park Royal industrial estate in Acton.

In its latest update, it added that a single-storey industrial laundry unit is still alight.

Crews were called at 2.19am, with firefighters from Park Royal, Acton, North Kensington, Ealing, Chiswick, Wembley and other stations attending the scene.

The brigade previously said 15 fire engines were sent to the scene, where 'a range of single-storey industrial units are alight'.

The service has received at least 13 calls about the fire in Sunbeam Road, Park Royal, near Acton Cemetery.

A spokesman for the service tweeted: "Crews are making steady progress at the fire in #ParkRoyal.

"Part of a single-storey industrial unit remains alight. This was the scene firefighters were faced with when they arrived at the blaze."

The tweet was accompanied by a picture of flames rising above the building.

The brigade previously tweeted: "Fifteen fire engines are now at the scene of the fire in #ParkRoyal A range of single-storey industrial units are alight."

The cause of the blaze is not yet known and there have not been any reports of injuries.
