AHMEDABAD: On Friday, Gujarat recorded 17 new Covid-19 cases, whereas 14 patients got discharged, adding three active cases to the tally. It was the second consecutive day for the state to record a rise in active cases, taking the tally to 186.
The new cases include 5 in Ahmedabad city, 3 in Vadodara city, 2 in Jamnagar and Surat districts and Surat and Junagadh cities, and1 in Bhavnagar. The cities accounted for 70% of the new cases on Friday.
Two districts - Ahmedabad (60) and Vadodara (52) - have more than 50 active cases in Gujarat now, among the rest of the districts, only Surat (17) have more than 10 active cases.
