INDORE: Covid-19 active cases have been slowly and gradually increasing in the district with cases touching new heights everyday post the third wave as the positivity rate remained on a higher side.
The active cases soar to 280 on July 2 as it reported 45 new cases of pandemic virus infection, showed bulletin.
The district reported new Covid-19 cases at a positivity rate of 8.6%. The Covid-19 positivity rate has been over 5% in the district since June 3. The district in June had reported 653 new pandemic virus infections that was 373% higher than those 138 reported in May.
The only relief amongst this spike is that the majority of cases without any severity, no fatalities because of virus infection and hospitalisation.
Covid-19 nodal officer Dr Amit Malakar said that the cases had been spread homogeneously across districts without any cluster signifying that the positives had been detected by chance.
The infections were reported most in protocol testing like before surgery, travel outside, elderly with persistent cough, cold and other symptoms, said Dr Malakar.
Dr Malakar however appealed to people to come forward to take their precaution dose, follow precautions while travelling outside the district.
The district authorities however, despite this continuous rise in cases, tested very few samples. Those samples which were collected and tested in the last one month were very random.
In the last one month, the district authorities had tested only 10,738 samples at an average of 357 on a daily basis with a range from 96 samples to 650. TNN
