Active Covid-19 cases cross 700 again in Puducherry

PUDUCHERRY: The active Covid-19 cases crossed 700-mark yet again in the Union territory of Puducherry on Tuesday. The territory reported 115 fresh cases even as 67 patients recovered in the last 24 hours taking the total number of active cases to 715. Of them, 557 patients are under home isolation and treatment.

Puducherry headquarters reported the maximum fresh cases with 57 followed by Karaikal (37), Mahe (16) and Yanam (5). Puducherry headquarters has the maximum active cases with 438 followed by Karaikal (156), Mahe (102) and Yanam (19).

The territory did not report any Covid-19 death and the toll stood at 1,812. Puducherry headquarters has the maximum fatalities with 1,431 followed by Karaikal (236), Yanam (105) and Mahe (40). The infection's fatality rate stood at 1.5%.
