The latest trailer for RTE's new gangster drama Kin has been released and the recent footage really does up the ante in terms of the action that's about to unfold.
After the first teaser introduced us to the frosty relationship between gang leaders Frank (Aidan Gillen) and Eamon (Ciarán Hinds), the new trailer sees the fallout from their escalating feud as a turf war develops.
Caught in the middle of this are Charlie Cox and Emmet J. Scanlan's characters who appear to be pawns in a much larger game.
Much like Love/Hate, the violence looks brutal and visceral, with shootouts, fist-fights and treachery afoot.
As for the plot, Kin follows the activities of a family of Dublin gangsters who go to war with thugs from rival gangs.
Game of Thrones star Aidan Gillen, 52, plays the head of the family which will automatically draw comparisons to Love/Hate in which he played gang boss John Boy in the first two seasons before the character was shot dead.
In terms of an official synopsis, RTE has said: "Kin underlines the unbreakable bonds of blood and family as it charts the lives of a fictional Dublin family embroiled in a gangland war and the consequences of their choices.
"The series’ local storyline, talented Irish cast and shooting location adds it to the growing ranks of strong and prestigious television series coming out of Ireland.
The show boasts an extremely impressive cast with Gillen being joined by Clare Dunne (Herself), Charlie Cox (Daredevil), Ciarán Hinds (Game of Thrones), Sam Keeley (The Cured), Emmett Scanlan (Peaky Blinders), Maria Doyle Kennedy (Outlander) and newcomer Yasmin Seky.

The show's star Emmet J. Scanlan has described the highly-anticipated crime drama as a "monster of a show" as anticipation builds for its release.
Taking to Instagram, Scanlan confirmed that he's completed his work on the show and teased fans about what they can expect.
"That's a wrap on gangland drama, crime drama - and more importantly than that, in my opinion - family drama, Kin. Wow!"This show will be out later in Ireland on RTE and in America - it's being shown on AMC - and in other countries across the world.
"I can't wait for you guys to see it, it's a really exciting project and for the last five months, we've been shooting this monster of a show."
At present, no official premiere date has been given but the show will premiere in Autumn.
